{April 6, 2017} ARNOLD, MO - On Wednesday, Dr. Ryan Sherp was surprised by his students and staff along with representatives from the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (SASSP).

“I actually don’t know what to say,” Sherp said once the award was announced. “I’m proud to be principal of this school and wake up every day knowing I’m where I need to be.”

To receive the award, Dr. Sherp was nominated by peers, in this case, other secondary principals in the state of Missouri, who recognized Dr. Sherp’s passion for education and achievements in his first few years as a secondary building principal. Dr. Sherp is in his second year as principal of Fox High School.

On hand to help present the award were Fox High School students, who shared their experiences with Dr. Sherp as their principal.

“He’s [Dr. Sherp] out there every morning to say hello to students, making us feel welcome,” said TJ Patterson, a Fox High School Senior. “He’s at every event. He’s just a great principal and we’re glad to have him.”

“The leadership and the direction you’ve taken the school is amazing,” said Alyssa Hoke, also a Fox High Senior. “I’m so proud to be here every day.”
