Bring Your Own Chromebook Overview

Through the Fox Focus, the District’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan, the Fox C-6 community has communicated the need for our students to have greater access to technology. To address this need, the Fox School District has been working to increase the amount of technology available for our students’ daily use. In 2016, the District invested $417,000 in technology by purchasing 1,400 Chromebooks and storage carts for schools around the district. This Chromebook purchase created a standard level of technology integration in all schools and ensured equal access to technology across the district. Since then, both the District and individual schools have been purchasing Chromebooks to provide students with access to technology and the digital textbooks along with other electronic curriculum resources that give students the ability to create content, think critically, and communicate using digital tools. Our goal is to provide ONE Chromebook for every TWO students across the District.

Students and teachers in the Fox School District have more access to Chromebooks and online resources than ever before. Based on the request of Fox C-6 parents, teachers, and students, the District is excited to introduce a Bring Your Own Chromebook (BYOCB) initiative for the 2018-2019 school year. This initiative will help support the District’s effort to increase technology support for students. If you choose to provide a Chromebook for your child, he or she will be able to bring it to school and use it on a regular basis for classroom activities.
