Curriculum Objectives

The following grade level expectations are being provided for your information. These expectations represent the skills that your child will be working to achieve by the end of this school year. We appreciate your efforts to support your child’s learning at home, and it is our goal to provide you with as much information as possible. It is important to know that this list represents the skills that will ultimately be achieved by the end of the school year. The students will be presented other skills during the year that are prerequisite learning or lead-up skills that are not listed.

You will begin to see curricula revised to incorporate the Missouri State Show-Me Standards and Grade Level Expectations. At this time the Math, Communication Arts, Science, and Social Studies curricula have been aligned with the Missouri Standards and the Grade Level Expectations. The only difference in these areas from the previous curricula is that it includes traditional knowledge (content) skills, but goes further to include application (process) skills. The goal is for students to more effectively apply the knowledge they have acquired.

If we can be of further assistance, do not hesitate to contact your school principal or the Elementary/Seconday Education Assistant Superintendent at (636) 296-8000.
