{March 20, 2017} ARNOLD, MO – On March 29, the Fox C-6 School District will host the inaugural year of the Fox C-6 Parent Summit, an evening of breakout sessions designed specifically for parents that will cover topics related to education, raising children, and community involvement. Teachers and staff have donated their time to offer nearly 50 sessions that will provide parents with an unique opportunity to learn more about the opportunities for students.

“We know that increased parent involvement leads to increased student success,” said Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education, Dr. Nisha Patel. “That is why our theme for this year is ‘Parent Involvement = Student Success.’ We hope to use this opportunity to help our parents connect with their child’s school and community. Through that partnership, we know our students will have even more opportunities for success.”

The event will take place on the campus of Fox High School, 751 Jeffco Blvd. Arnold, MO. The evening will begin with a presentation at Rickman Auditorium that will cover a brief overview of the district before parents are released to their sessions. Additionally, parents have been invited to attend a free spaghetti dinner beforehand, provided by the administration teams at Fox and Seckman High Schools.

“We have an incredibly dedicated community of staff and parents,” said Superintendent Jim Wipke. “The Parent Summit will be a unique opportunity for us to develop even closer relationships with our parents and help provide them with more tools to take an active role in their students’ academic careers. This is unlike anything I’ve seen presented in education,” Wipke said. “We’re incredibly excited to be able to host this wonderful opportunity.”

Topics for breakout sessions will cover information and issues at all grade levels, including early childhood education, community involvement, summer school, scholarships, college admissions, and more. A complete list of breakout sessions and descriptions can be found here.

Registration for the event is still open and can be completed on our website at www.fox.k12.mo.us. The District anticipates close to 500 parents attending sessions on March 29th.
