ARNOLD • Fox Middle School has been named a 2015 Missouri School of Character. This is the second time that Fox Middle has received this recognition, the first being in 2010. The Missouri School of Character is a 5 year award is given by Characterplus and Character.org with a goal to “recognize all schools and districts that demonstrate an exemplary level of implementation of Character.org’s Eleven Principles of Effective Character Education.” Fox Middle is the first school in the Fox C-6 School District to be twice recognized as a Missouri School of Character.

80 Schools were recognized nationwide and Fox Middle was one of only 12 schools recognized in Missouri. Administrators and teachers at Fox Middle completed a comprehensive application process outlining their implementation of each of the Eleven Principles that was reviewed by local character education evaluators. The evaluators then visited Fox Middle and observed classrooms and interviewed students, parents, staff, and community members.

Character.org will now evaluate Fox Middle School for the National School of Character recognition. Fox Middle last earned this recognition in 2011. The announcement on whether or not Fox Middle will be a 2015 National School of Character is expected in May.
