Hamrick's Girls on the Run club implemented the Buddy Bench program to eliminate loneliness on the playground and to help students foster new friendships.  

Out of 250 Girls on the Run schools in the St. Louis area, Clyde Hamrick's service project came in 3rd place, earning the school the Excellence in Community Service award. According to the Girls on the Run website, the award is given once each semester to Girls on the Run teams that "best demonstrate creativity, teamwork, and shared commitment in planning and executing their community service project."
