9/2/2014 SPECIAL BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
ARNOLD • On Tuesday, the Fox C-6 Board of Education called a special meeting to seek input from the community regarding the district’s superintendent search. Members of the community, including employees, parents, and taxpayers, had the chance to directly address the Board of Education. Brent Underwood, who is facilitating the search through the Missouri School Boards’ Association, was on hand to moderate and pledge his determination to help find the best possible candidate for the district.
Dr. Underwood, who has served as superintendent of the Mehlville and Webster Groves school districts, will make a selection of several candidates from the applicant pool which he will then present to the board for interviews. Underwood stressed his goal is to present the Board with the absolute best candidates who he believes can provide the best possible leadership and vision for the Fox C-6 District.
The audience had the opportunity to give their comments publicly. Attendees also had the chance to fill out a survey and leave written input for Underwood and the Board. This form is also available online by visiting: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FoxC-6 and can be accessed until September 10th, 2014. Dr. Underwood and the Board will review the surveys and comments and will use the community’s input when reviewing applications and making a final decision.
“This is the most important decision you will make as Board Members,” Dr. Underwood said of the superintendent selection.
The application for the position closes on September 8th, and the Board hopes to have a decision by the end of November. The anticipated start date of the new superintendent will be July 1st of next year.
