The meeting began with the announcement by Board President John Laughlin of the unanimous decision to approve a two year contract to Dr. Jim Wipke for the office of superintendent of Fox C-6 Schools. Dr. Wipke then addressed the public, vowing that “there will be no one who works harder or cares more than your superintendent.” The future superintendent will officially begin his contract on July 1st, 2015, but has promised he will work over the coming months to learn as much about the district as possible.

The Board members also voted unanimously to tighten the district’s anti-nepotism policy. The new policy will prevent the district from hiring family members of current Board members, the superintendent, and assistant superintendents. Although the policy will allow current employees to keep their job if a relative is elected to the Board, it states those employees could not change jobs so long as that relative holds a place on the Board or as a superintendent.
